Brentwood fielded an eight-man team of orienteers for the Belhus Woods SWELL event on Saturday with all competitors scoring fast times on their respective courses.
Emma Bowie-Britton came home first on the 3.1km Orange route with a time of 41:03 beating Jessica Mills into second spot with a finish of 55:16.
On the Yellow 2km course, Stephanie Cooper romped home first in a time of 15:08 with Kate Bowie-Britton second 22:41. Ami Lodhia and Janie Horton, competing on the same course, got lost in the woods – due to autumn leaves covering the smaller paths - but once they located themselves, they got back on track and finished without missing any controls. Ami came home 4th in a time of 46:09 and Janie finished fifth in a time of 77:01.
Luke Cooper was triumphant on the Light Green 3.2km course in a speedy 32:41 and Jake Horton came second on the White 1.2km course in a time of 9:20.
Head of Orienteering, Mrs Rachel Barford, said: “The results were really good, although admittedly there weren't many competitors, but it was still a great outing and the team achieved fast times on their respective courses.”
SWELL is the South and West Essex Local League, an individual league which is jointly run by Havering and South Essex (HAVOC) and Chigwell and Epping Forest (CHIG) orienteering clubs.
