A fantastic day of fencing saw more than 50 Brentwood School students, along with 30 guests from other clubs, compete in the third Brentwood School Summer Fencing Tournament.
One of the highlights of an action-packed day was a full Brentwood School winners’ podium for the Under 13 intermediate Foil with Bronze for Aaron Adams and Heather Trevelyan, Silver for Joanna Burgess and a Gold medal for Lily Allmark.
In the Under 13 Epee, Ethan Brooks won a good Bronze medal and First Year Zack Lingard claimed a fantastic Silver medal. In the Under 15 Mixed Epee a great Bronze medal was secured by Ben Nagelkerke.

Fencing Instructor Mr Chris Galesloot said: “It was a great team effort by the Brentwood School Fencing Team with many more of our athletes securing quarter final places. It was a great day!”
Seven pupils from the Brentwood Preparatory School Fencing Team also took part in last Saturday’s tournament. In the Under 9 Mixed Foil, Chloe Leslie was unstoppable and claimed overall victory, with Arun Kang doing a fantastic job on his first tournament to go home with the Bronze medal.
In the Under 11 Mixed Foil, Jacob Leslie, Varun Bhardwaj and Toby Skinner fought well but lost their first elimination fight. Joshua Elsworth and Sophia Jones did very well to win their elimination fight and only stranded in the quarter-finals with Sophia being the highest ranked girl of the tournament.
