Brentwood’s trampolinists bounce back

Fourteen-year-old Brentwood School pupil Maddi Merritt has a spring in her step following her success in the National Trampoline League Finals 2015 held in the Copperbox at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Maddi, competing as one of the country’s top 20 trampolinists in her age group, finished 10th overall in the final of the individual trampoline (TRI) category (13-14 Female League 2) with a tally of 20 points.

The following day, Sunday November 22nd, Maddi and her partner competed in the final of the synchronised trampoline (9-16 Female Juniors) and came 4th in the country, just missing out on a bronze medal by 0.5 of a mark!

On Sunday, Brentwood’s trampolining team of Maddi Merritt, Skye Lynch and Holly Duke bounced their way to victory in the Trampoline East Regional Schools 2015 competition held in Hitchin.

Despite stiff competition, the team secured overall first place in the Under 14 Girls’ Elite category, with Maddi also winning a silver medal in the individual competition. First Year David McGill also competed as an individual in the Under 14 Boys’ Novice event and finished fourth out of 37 competitors.

Headmaster Ian Davies congratulated Maddi and the rest of the School’s aspiring trampolinists on their recent successes at this week’s Whole School Assembly. “We look forward to them reaching new heights!” he said.
