Equestrian Team Jumps to the Finals of the NSEA Eventers Challenge Series

A fantastic result for the Brentwood School Equestrian Team, who competed in the National Schools’ Equestrian Association Eventers Challenge qualifier last week, at The Jays Equestrian Centre in Suffolk.

The competition involved a series of challenging show jumps, followed immediately by a course of simulated cross country fences.

First class of the day was the 70/75cm. Sophie Philpot, Emma Philpot, Grace Parrish and Niamh Mills rode impressive rounds, resulting in a well-deserved win to qualify for the Eventers Challenge Final at Hickstead, in May 2017, with Sophie riding a blistering round to top the class individually.

The next class was the 80/85cm. A quick change of ponies and the team of Emma, Sophie and Grace rode brilliant rounds to again take first place, qualifying for the finals, with individual placings of 4th (Sophie) and 5th (Emma).

The 90/95cm class was the final class, where the above team rode strong rounds, placing them in a worthy 4th position.

Congratulations to the whole team, including the parents, for a marvelous result deserving of the effort put in. Especially well done to Niamh Mills and Sophie Philpot on their first representation for the School’s equestrian team.
