Nicholas McCarthy Piano Recital and motivational event

PLEASE NOTE DATE CHANGE:

The date of the Nicholas McCarthy recital and motivational evening has been changed. It will now take place on Saturday 29th February in the Wessex Auditorium at 7pm.

This is an exciting opportunity to attend our inaugural Piano Recital on the magnificent new Steinway concert grand piano.

Nicholas McCarthy was born without his right hand and only began to play the piano at the late age of 14. His concert performances, recordings and media features have gained critical acclaim. However, his ongoing commitment to encouraging new audiences to classical music, along with his work with young people through music education, is ever present in his schedule.

The programme will include pieces by Scriabin, Richard Strauss, Bartók and Rachmaninov.  For this event, the School is working in collaboration with the European Piano Teachers’ Association.  The objective is to offer a concert aimed at inspiring young musicians.  Nicholas is also a motivational speaker so he will mix this with his playing in order to inspire and motivate the youngsters. We are expecting the tickets to sell out quickly so please book early to avoid disappointment.
