Emma Philpot had a terrific day at the National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) Arena Eventing Qualifiers held at Codham Park Equestrian, near Braintree, in the Easter holidays.
She rode two super clear rounds over 85cm show and cross country jumps to be placed 2nd on her pony, Mocklershill Man, and 4th on her brother's Prince of Donard out of a competitive field of 65, therefore qualifying for the Nationals at Addington Manor, Bucks in October and the plate finals in December.
Thirteen-year-old Emma then went one better on Mocklershill Man, in the 95cm class, with two lovely clear rounds again and was the only person fast enough to be in the cross country time to win out of a field of 75 riders. She therefore qualified a second time for the Nationals in October. A judge also marked riders on style, which is factored in the final score, so Emma had to look good as well as perform well. Well done Emma!
