Recent Exam Results

Each year, our pupils achieve excellent exam results, and with A Level and International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP) results declared, 2019 is no exception. Right across the board we have seen outstanding achievement overall.

Our International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP) students received their results on Friday 5th July, the day after term finished. This marked the end of two years of exceptional hard work and commitment to realise their dreams of studying their chosen course at university. These students achieved a remarkable average of 35 points and four students received 40 points or more out of the possible 45.

The School’s International Baccalaureate Diploma programme consistently places it in the top 20 IB Schools in the country, and now has a five year average of 36 points.

Another strong set of A Level results saw 25 of the talented cohort gain all A*s and A Grades, six are off to Cambridge University, and over 100 students are going to their first choice university.

The average UCAS tariff score of a student leaving our Sixth Form is 156. This is remarkably strong and reflects the more demanding courses we are offering in both the IB Diploma and our A Level, including the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) pathway. This means that the average student leaving our Sixth Form has qualifications equivalent, or better, than AAA at A Level.

GCSE results were also among the best ever and pupils celebrated a bumper crop of top ‘9’ grades with 18.5% securing the highest grade compared to a national UK average of 4.5%.

The proportion of 7-9 (A*-A) grades was 62.6% - 2.5% higher than last year - making the 2019 exam tally among the School’s best ever results, with 67 students (more than 42%) attaining eight or more 7-9 grades.

These statistics represent the dedication and excellence of our teaching staff and the hard work and application of our pupils, and we are justifiably proud of their achievement.
