Each year, our pupils achieve excellent exam results and 2018 was no exception. Right across the board we saw outstanding achievement overall.
Our International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP) students achieved a remarkable average of 36 points and a staggering nine students received 40 points or more out of the possible 45 - the equivalent of A*A*A at A Level.
At A Level 25 students achieved a full set of A* and A grades. When combined with the IBDP results, the overall results for the Sixth Form are 44% A*-A, 78% A*-B, 96% A*-C and a 100% pass rate.
Among the 2018 Upper Sixth cohort, eight students have taken up offers at Oxford and Cambridge Universities.
At GCSE level, 18% of Brentwood School pupils received 9s in subjects graded in the new way compared to the national trend, which suggested only 4% of pupils achieved one. 29 students received all A*As/9-7s in their examinations, again bucking the national downward trend for these grades.
In total, the percentage of A*As/9-7 grades rose 3% to 60% and virtually all students (97%) received C or above (9-4), also a rise of 3%.
These statistics represent the dedication and excellence of our teaching staff and the hard work and application of our pupils, and we are justifiably proud of their achievement.
