Governors

It is the Governors’ function to have responsibility for the long-term success and viability of the School and to support the Headteacher and Senior Leadership team.

Photo of Michael SnyderSince Brentwood School is a charitable trust, the Governors' role is as trustees of a legally constituted board of the trust. Brentwood School governors also plan the strategic objectives of the School, ensure its financial health, and that the School conforms to legal requirements.

Governors are non-executive and many have full-time jobs and come from a range of backgrounds: they can be parents, a figure in the local community, professionals, or retired people with relevant experience. Several Brentwood School governors have a background in education and offer knowledge acquired over a lifetime in independent schools.

The Chairman of Governors, Lord Black of Brentwood, may be contacted via The Bursar and Clerk to the Governors at the School’s address, by using the form below or call: 01277 243251.
