In the build up to Rio 2016, Brentwood’s hopeful young sportsmen and women have the unique opportunity to be coached by top international and national players and coaches as part of the Schools of Sport elite sports coaching academy programme at Brentwood School.
With four Schools of Sport Academies running this summer in Athletics, Netball and Football, children, aged 7 to 16 years, will have the unique opportunity to be personally coached and inspired by some of the country’s leading players and coaches.
Coaches will include Olympian decathlete (and Essex born) Dean Macey; Commonwealth gold heptathlete, Kelly Sotherton, and former Welsh netball coach Melissa Hyndman.
The academies will be run at Brentwood School which offers outstanding sports facilities and an inspiring environment in which children can make spectacular progress in a short space of time.
“Our previous academies have been such a success with children and parents that I am really pleased to be coaching again in Brentwood this summer,” said Dean Macey. “It’s fantastic to be helping children to develop their skills and give them the inspiration to take their sport further – and hopefully help nurture tomorrow’s gold medal winners!”
Other star coaches will be announced nearer the time for the football academy.
