Brentwood School's Academic Enrichment Summer School takes place in June for First and Second Year students at the picturesque Leiston Abbey in Suffolk. The programme is varied and students will be encouraged to think and debate in small groups. The surroundings of the Abbey provide the perfect opportunity to discuss the causes and effects of the dissolution of the monasteries and the gothic architecture is the perfect landscape to read extracts from the works of Edgar Allan Poe. There is also the opportunity to take part in a music, drama or art workshop. In addition, students hear about elite university choices (including Oxbridge) and are encouraged to think about and develop their own intellectual passions. It is always a very valuable and enriching experience.
