The application deadline for Scholarships and Bursaries for September 2020 is 1st December 2019.
We will expect to see evidence of attainment not less than Grade 4 in the main instrument offered and will be interested to read of other instruments played (or classical singing/theory exams taken).
All those who have reached the required standard will be invited to attend a workshop on Friday, 10th January 2020 where they bring their instrument(s) and join in various musical activities.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a formal audition on Thursday, 23rd January 2020. The 30-minute audition will involve solo performances on all instruments offered, to read at sight and take aural tests, and answer questions on general musical matters. If an accompanist will be required for the audition, please let the school know in advance, stating the work(s) to be played.
Any enquiries should be made to the Director of Music, Mr Florian Cooper, who will be pleased to speak to parents to answer questions about awards and musical facilities. The award of a Music Scholarship is conditional upon the recipient performing well academically in the Entrance Examination.
