The Sir Antony Browne Society (SABS) is a society which seeks to broaden and enhance the academic experience of our Sixth Form students. It has proved to be a very stimulating and successful Society for many years and a great opportunity for our oldest students as they prepare for life at University and the world beyond.
The Sir Antony Browne Society (named after the School Founder) meets weekly throughout the academic year and usually takes the form of a lecture with an invited speaker. Each week, we are proud to be able to host a wide range of excellent speakers who stretch and challenge our students in a wide variety of academic areas. Former speakers have included Rt Hon Jack Straw MP (Old Brentwood), George Galloway MP and Rt Hon Andrew Lansley MP (Old Brentwood). The lecture is followed by a short discussion and often there is a dinner to follow where the students can engage in further debate with the lecturer. The Society is organised by Mr Willis, Head of Politics and by three senior pupils.
