Congratulations to all the young scientists who took part in Brentwood School’s Primary Schools’ Science Exhibition – ‘Science Magic – Magic Science’ – on Saturday.
Exhibition judges, Head of First Year Science, Mrs Pamela Ebden, and Science teacher Dr Iona Ross, were very impressed by the high standard of projects on display and in awe at the amount of time and trouble the Key Stage 2 pupils had put into their entries.
The annual exhibition is open to all young scientists in Years 4, 5 and 6 at schools across Essex and aims to encourage KS2 pupils to embark on a project based on a set theme.
This year’s entries ranged from the magic of DNA to disappearing glass, and fruit and vegetable batteries to the magic of nature. The projects were presented in a variety of mediums including models, posters, PowerPoint presentations and hands-on experiments.
Saturday’s exhibition took place in the School’s award-winning Bean Academic Centre and five prizes, of a £25 book token, were presented to the winning pupils. All the children in the exhibition were presented with special certificates.
