A Levels

Sixth Formers can either take the traditional A Levels or the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - a worldwide qualification.

Those pupils in the Lower Sixth studying AS Levels will take four subjects reducing to three A2 subjects in the Upper Sixth. The majority of pupils will also take a Supplementary Studies course along with Games and Life Skills. A small number of pupils will undertake additional AS and A2 courses.

The subjects currently available are: Art, Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Classical Civilisation, Computer Studies, Economics, English, French, Further Mathematics, Geography, German, Graphic Products, Greek, History, IT, Latin, Mathematics, Music, Philosophy & Ethics, Physical Education, Physics, Political Studies, Psychology, Spanish, Technology, Theatre Studies.


Brentwood School's Sixth Formers celebrated last August with another excellent year of A Level results. 91% of grades were A - C with over 72% being As and Bs.  22 exceptional candidates received 3 or more A grades and 7 outstanding pupils will be attending Oxford or Cambridge University in September 2009.  The school boasts 100% pass rate, this year out of 366 A Levels taken by 119 pupils, 366 were passed.
