"Outstanding" Boarding at Brentwood School
02 February 2010
It's official - Boarding at Brentwood School is "outstanding". Brentwood School has become the first, and so far the only, senior boarding school in Essex to receive OFSTED's coveted "outstanding" award for a boarding provision. OFSTED inspectors descended on the school for two days in January to interview a number of students and staff. They looked closely at the school's boarding facilities and inspected all key documentation. The inspection report, which has just been published, looked at six key outcomes for boarding and judged all of them as "outstanding", the highest possible rating. In his summary the lead inspector commented "Relationships between boarders are excellent and there is a harmonious, relaxed and friendly environment throughout boarding. Access to varied and enjoyable activities is excellent and boarders are actively encouraged to contribute their views and opinions about boarding. Accommodation is of a very high standard and is extremely well maintained. Boarding is well organised and staff are highly committed and motivated in caring for boarders." Headmaster, Mr Ian Davies is delighted with the report and commented, "I am thrilled to receive such a fantastic report. The boarding staff at Brentwood School are absolutely committed to providing a first class boarding education and it is reassuring to know that we are going in the right direction. Our boarders presence enriches the educational experience of everyone at the school. It is nice to know from OFSTED that there is no better school in England to board in than Brentwood."
