The Brentwood Leadership Academy aims to promote effective educational management, leadership and administration throughout and beyond Brentwood School.
Members of the academy include existing and aspiring middle and senior leaders, including Heads of Department, Heads of Year, Houseparents, Directors and Assistant Heads, Deputy Heads, Head teachers and Governors. Our key activities include:
BLA Breakfast Club
Each week the academy meets to explore particular aspects of educational management, leadership and administration. Sessions use a 'flipped' learning model, where participants contribute to a discussion stimulated by pre-released material, and are resourced and facilitated by an experienced senior leader.
BLA Keynote Speaker Programme
Once a term the academy is addressed by a guest speaker on a contemporary issue in educational management, leadership and administration.
BLA Leadership Programme
Members of the academy are encouraged and supported to undertake formal courses in educational management, leadership and administration. Courses range from one day courses offered by leading training providers, such as HMCPD, middle leadership courses, such as ISQAM and PGCML, and senior leadership courses, such as Masters in Educational Leadership (MEds), National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) and Doctorates in Education (EdD). For more information on these and to search for other relevant course click here. Furthermore, our Fast-track Leadership Development programme combines a number of these elements to provide a streamlined, accelerated training route to senior leadership positions.
