Some of these activities, such as the Combined Cadet Force, are timetabled in the school day. Others take place during the lunch hours, after school or at the weekends. These activities allow pupils to develop social skills, team-working skills, leadership qualities and to pursue other activities for their own enjoyment. The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme is increasingly popular. In addition to the extra-curricular programme, there is an extensive range of trips and visits both within the UK and abroad. |
