The first classes were held in the School House dining room and from here, the Prep moved with successive expansions to Roden House (now the Senior School Headmaster's House), the Hermitage and, finally in 1949 to its present home, Middleton Hall.
Middleton Hall was largely built in the mid-18th Century with later additions and is the former home of Lady (Countess) Tasker.
Originally the Prep was an all-boys school with boarding facilities. Boarding ceased in 1992 and the School has been fully co-educational since 1999.
