Brentwood School Houses

Here you will find a list of the houses

The House system offers an important dimension to education at Brentwood.  It provides a vertical structure of pupils from 1st to 6th form complementing the formal pastoral structure provided by the Sections in the school.  All pupils wear a house tie in house colours.

NORTH HOUSE

  • Housemaster is Neil Crosby
  • Assistant Housemasters/mistress are, Caroline Gordon-Johnson, Ruth Fairfull (maternity leave), Glen Little and Laetitia Dearmer-Decup
  • The House colours are yellow and black.

SOUTH HOUSE

  • Housemaster is Chris Long
  • Assistant Housemasters/mistress are, Pamela Ebden (maternity leave), Brian Hardie and Sarah Lake
  • The House colours are red and white.

EAST HOUSE

  • Housemaster is John McCann
  • Assistant Housemasters/mistress are Graham Kiff, Amy Leath and Jeff Stevens
  • The House colour is light blue.

WEST HOUSE

  • Housemaster is Geoff Fisher
  • Assistant Housemasters/mistress are Valerie Thorpe, Adrian Pask and Mary-Ella Kyte
  • The House colour is dark blue.

WEALD HOUSE

  • Housemistress is Nicola Heelam
  • Assistant Housemasters/mistress are Mark Monro, Henry Shepherd and Keith Gray
  • The House colour is claret.

SCHOOL HOUSE

  • Comprises Hough and Mill Hill Boarding Houses (see previous section for details)
  • The House colours are: Hough scarlet and sky blue. Mill Hill green and blue.

House Activities
There are inter-House activities throughout the course of the year organised by House staff and other relevant staff e.g. House Music, House Drama, House Athletics.  This provides an excellent opportunity for pupils of varying abilities to participate in school activities.

Meetings: Each House meets every Wednesday morning (8.40 am to 8.50 am) for Full House Assembly or Sectional Assembly and one Monday each half term as in the calendar.
