The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) offers a uniquely balanced, coherent Sixth Form curriculum that promotes international understanding, personal confidence, social responsibility, and flexible, independent learning.
For nearly 40 years, the IBDP has maintained its unrivalled reputation for academic rigour (breadth and depth) and is welcomed by universities and employers in the UK and all over the world. Hear what BT boss, Michael Rake has to say about the IB.
Brentwood's ambitious programme offers an unusually wide range of subjects, namely: English A1 (for native speakers), German A2 (for bilingual students), German B, French B, Spanish B, History, Philosophy, Psychology, Economics, Business and Management, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Mathematical Studies, Music and Visual Arts.
Pupils take six subjects, providing breadth, and the study of three of those at a more demanding (Higher) level, plus the writing of a 4000-word Extended Essay (dissertation), promotes depth.
All students are required to do 50 hours of community service as part of the creativity, action and service (CAS) programme.
