Dear Parent,
We would like to inform you that we have now received the report of our inspection of the Preparatory and Pre-Preparatory Schools, which took place in February. The full report and a recent Ofsted inspection report can be downloaded and viewed from the below link.
We are delighted with the inspection report and the judgements made by the team of inspectors who visited the schools. The majority of the aspects were judged ‘outstanding' or ‘excellent' and all were rated good or better. There are so many positive comments in the report, it would not be appropriate to single out any particular aspect in this letter. Perhaps the opening sentence of the conclusion provides the best summary of the inspectors' views, ‘Both the pre-prep and the prep are successful in achieving the aims of Brentwood School to provide a first class education for all its pupils.'
The report acknowledges the progress the schools have made since the last inspection in 2002, particularly the significant investment in ICT resources, the increase in facilities that the ‘new' building has brought and the continuing improvement in academic standards. As with all inspection reports, there are recommendations for further improvement; all of these had already been identified by the school and are very much, ‘work in progress.' It is particularly pleasing that the inspection team not only believe that we offer an excellent education but also agree how we intend to improve it further.
Finally, we would like to thank you for your support of the school. The results of the Parents' Questionnaire were extremely positive and the inspectors were impressed by the contribution parents make to the school and the appreciation they show for the quality of education being offered to their children. We are grateful for your continuing support, which is an important factor in our success.
Yours sincerely,
Sarah Wilson
