We had an excellent concert given by the talented Members of the Choral Society last night, Wednesday 23rd April, St. George's Day.  The annual Choral Concert was held in the magnificent setting of Brentwood Cathedral.

Members of the Choral Society performed the sublime Requiem of Fauré along with his lesser-known Cantique de Jean Racine.  Further French music courtesy of Widor was also performed, and then balanced with the English partsong "The Bluebird" by Stanford. 

There were stunning solo pieces from our Sixth Form vocalists; Harriet Drewe, Rebecca Toft, Joshua Chapman, Alastair Matheson and Jennifer Barrett.  Students Matthew Jorysz and Caroline Hall played the organs and the harp beautifully.

To complete the programme the audience heard the first performance of an orchestral piece written by Upper Sixth Form student Massimo Guida.
