These are extremely exciting times for athletes at Brentwood School. Members of the squads are training hard during the week and on Saturday mornings to improve their impressive array of skills. This hard work is clearly paying off.  Teams were selected to compete at the First Round of the English Schools' Athletics Association Track and Field Cup held at Melbourne Park on Monday 11 May 2009. At the end of an exceptional day, all 4 teams won their heats. Staff and pupils should be commended for their significant efforts.

The Junior Girls, Inter Girls and Inter Boys teams have now progressed to the East Anglia A Final which is reserved for the top 12 points scorers in Essex, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk. The Junior Boys team will compete in the East Anglia B Final, narrowly missing out on the A Final by just one place.

Once the Regional Finals have been completed, the top 12 in the country will compete at the National Finals in Hull on Saturday 4 July. Currently, the Junior Boys are placed 31^st out of 486 schools, Junior Girls are 3^rd out of 512 schools, the Inter Boys are 23^rd out of466 schools and lastly the Inter Girls are in 13^th place out of 490 schools. Overall, this means that Brentwood School is ranked inside the top 3.6% nationwide which is an outstanding achievement and one we should be very proud of.
