This year's Summer Exhibition takes place on Friday, 12th June in the Hardy Amies Design Centre at Brentwood School, showcasing the culmination of a year's work by hundreds of Art, Design Technology and ICT pupils.
Displays consist of artwork, architectural models, ceramics and digital photography, there will also be competitions that pupils and the local community can take part in including the infamous ‘Turnip Prize' in which participants are encouraged to create spoofs of past Turner Prizes. There will also be many examples of final GCSE and A-Level art examination pieces.
The Hardy Amies Design Centre was named after past pupil Sir Hardy Amies, couturier to Her Majesty the Queen and designer of the Brentwood School girl's stylish uniform.
Mr. Graham Kiff, Director of the centre commented: "The Summer Exhibition is always a great success, enjoyable for students and visitors alike. This year is particularly exciting because the standard of work is extremely high. Year on year, the graphic products and art work keep improving."
