The outstanding dance show took place over three nights in the Memorial Hall, each night saw different acts going through to the next round as competitors were voted through by the panel of judges.  Wednesday night was the finale and the show didn't disappoint, there was excellent choreography, all arranged by the pupils themselves, vibrant outfits and bags of enthusiasm!

Choreography comprised of a mixture of traditional and modern dance styles.  There were elegant ballet performances by Helen Walls and Emma Kirby, a tap dancing duet to ‘A Town Called Malice' by Poppy Coggins and Faye McCarthy and an energetic number ‘Pix and Mix' by Lucy Hilton, Hannah Bennett-Ford and Emily Harris.  The enthusiasm of the dancers was matched by the appreciation of the audience who cheered all acts along.

Tension grew at the end of the show as the hosts announced who the judges had selected as the winner.  The runners up were Abigail Dawson and Millie Ruddock for their act ‘Funky Jazz', but the winner was Helen Walls with her ballet performance of ‘No Happy Ending'.  Helen was recently awarded the Musicality Cup and came overall 2nd at the Grade 5 final of the ISTD Classical Ballet Awards.  Helen has been awarded the Wells Scholarship - giving her the opportunity to be taught by dancers from the Royal Ballet at Sadler's Wells and the Royal Opera House.

Dance director, Miss Kimberley Hereterich commented "I am so pleased with the success of the dance show and the high standard of dance the pupils have achieved.  All the students  looked like they thoroughly enjoyed being on stage, and have made me extremely proud of them all.'
