Brentwood School swimmers are celebrating this week after gaining the District Swimming title by winning overall for both the Girls and Boys District Swimming Galas.

The Girls District Gala was held at Brentwood School on 12^th November with five schools taking part, including, Brentwood School, Ursuline, Shenfield High, Brentwood County and St Martins.  The Girls team won overall for the 2^nd year running.

The Boys District Gala was held at Brentwood School on 26^th November with four schools taking part; Brentwood School, St Martins, Shenfield High and Brentwood County.

The boys won for the 4^th year running, winning every relay race in the competition, due to the hard work put in at the early morning sessions before school and by practicing their dives and sprints ruthlessly.

This was another successful year for the District Galas and the Brentwood School swimmers are now training for the Mid Essex Relay Championships in January.

Brentwood School swimming coach, Mrs Carol Melvin, commented, "This is another fantastic achievement for our dedicated swimmers and it is testament to all their hard work.   There are more girls than ever taking part in training and the early morning training sessions for both boys and girls is really paying off.  I am thrilled that the boys won in every age group and the girls won 3 out of 5 races."
