Following the outstanding A Level achievements of Brentwood School's Sixth Formers last week, the school has announced similarly excellent GCSE results. For the sixth consecutive year running over half of all the GCSE grades were either A* or A grades and 97% of GCSE examinations sat by pupils this summer emerged as either A*, A, B or C grades.

30 remarkable pupils achieved 9 or more GCSEs all at either A* or A grade. Students such as, Jacob Bird who received 10 A*s and 1 A, Isabel Cooper and Jack Hardaker both achieved 9 A*s and 1 A and Avinash Visvanthan gained 8 A*s and 2 As.

Headmaster, Ian Davies, congratulated all the pupils for their outstanding performance and hard work throughout the last two years. He praised the commitment of the teaching staff and the great level of support for individual pupils which led to these excellent results.

Several pupils received excellent grades and are very talented in other areas, most notably; Matthew Jorysz who is a music scholar at Brentwood School and very talented organist achieved 8 A*s, 1 A and 1 B; Poppy Coggins who recently played a ballet dancer in the West End Musical ‘Billy Elliot' whilst studying GCSE's achieved 4 A*s, 4 As and 3 Bs and Alasdair Hooper, one of the School's international fencers for U17 Sabre achieved 1 A*, 6 As and 3 Bs.
