On Wednesday 11th March Brentwood School hosted 39 students and four teachers on the first ever French Rugby Exchange. The French party came from St Vincent de Tyrosse in the South West of France.
The whole week was a resounding success in terms of both the rugby played and the bond built between the French boys and Brentwood School boys. Four matches were played in total and Brentwood School did exceptionally well, considering the quality of the opposition. Brentwood lost three matches narrowly, and the U12/13 team achieved a magnificent draw in the last fixture. The French boys spoke very highly about all the parents who very kindly agreed to host them and they also admired the school.
Everyone who took part thoroughly enjoyed playing rugby and improving their French. The boys are already looking forward to the return leg in October and building future relationships of the schools.
