Wire teapots and stunning ceramic birds were amongst the artwork on display at the Hardy Amies Design Centre Summer Exhibition this year, which took place on Friday, 18th June 2010. Many parents, pupils and staff were joined by the new Mayor of Brentwood and former Brentwood School pupil, David Tee as the Guest of Honour.
The exhibition showcased a culmination of a year's work by hundreds of Art, Design & Technology, Food Technology and ICT pupils. There were many examples of final GCSE and A Level art examination pieces and displays. Displays included artwork, architectural models, ceramics and digital photography. There were also competitions that pupils and guests could take part in including; the House cooking competition and the Teachers' Portrait Competition. In addition, plenty of activities were available on the evening, such as; drawing, ICT games and Design & Technology activities.

The Hardy Amies Design Centre was named after former pupil Sir Hardy Amies, couturier to Her Majesty the Queen and designer of the Brentwood School girl's stylish uniform.
Mr. Graham Kiff, Director of the centre commented: "The Summer Exhibition is always a great success, enjoyable for students and visitors alike. This year is particularly exciting because the standard of work is extremely high. Year on year, the graphic products and art work keep improving."
