First and second year pupils showed outstanding promise for future theatre productions at the recent Junior Play this Trinity Term at Brentwood School.
The Drama Studio at Brentwood School was the location for this year's lower school play: ‘Horrorshow,' a double-dose of terrifying theatre.
‘Scary Play' by Judith Johnson provided an insight into the torturous imagination of a group of children at a sleep over. The cast handled both the comedy and the horror extremely well, with Lauren Tai, Alice Haskell, Dominic Stevens and Charlie Ruck all putting in outstanding performances.
The second play was written by Robbie Carver a second year pupil at Brentwood School. ‘Madness' is a psychological voyage through the deranged world of a ruthless killer. The astonishing script was brought to life by a creative cast with outstanding performances from Josephine Evans and Jade Romero.
This year's play was directed by Mr Phil Cleaves who did a fantastic job of organising and focusing the students. Mr Cleaves commented that "Lewis Bruniges' bravura performance as Old Arthur was mature beyond his years and stunned audiences consistently. Both plays were incredibly successful."
Horrorshow was shown over three consecutive evening performances from June 18th through to June 20th 2008.
