Rensburg Sheppards ISFA Cup Finals
01 February 2010
We are delighted to announce that the U15 football team have made it through to the Rensburg Sheppards ISFA Cup Final to be held at the Pirelli Stadium, Burton Albion FC on Thursday 4th March (6.00 pm). The boys have played tremendously well throughout the season and fully deserve the opportunity to defend their title which they won as U13's in 2008. The boys have defeated Westminster, Dulwich College, Millfied and Hampton in their run to the final scoring 17 goals and conceding just 5. In the semi-final, Hampton started the better, but Brentwood's ruthless strike force pounced to score twice in the 8th and 9th minutes. Olumayowa Olubowale delivered two excellent crosses which resulted in goals for Elliott Lee and Austin Lipman respectively. Hampton hit back in the 28th minute, when a long kick from the goalkeeper eluded the defence and their lively striker ran through to slot the ball home making the score 2-1 at half-time. However, 10 minutes into the second half, a long clearance was controlled by Lee who played in Lipman who hit a 20 yard strike in off the underside of the bar to complete a 3-1 win. Brentwood School's captain Louie Grainger deservedly won man of the match, although it was an outstanding team performance. Ticket and travel details to the final are available at http://www.isfa.org.uk/boys/news.php?go=fullnews&id=81.
