Senior School pupils from the 1st and 2nd Year impressed audiences three nights in a row as they performed this year's annual Junior Trinity Term Play, ‘The Odyssey' based on Homer's epic poem from Greek Mythology.
The Odyssey is about Odysseus, King of Ithaca, played by 2nd Year Josh Thomas, and his adventures whilst marooned on a strange island after a battle at Troy. Odysseus eventually returns to his palace disguised as a beggar to test the loyalty of his people and to plan his revenge on the greedy, arrogant suitors.
All of this is watched over by the mighty gods from Olympus and by the three fates, who spin, measure and cut the threads of men's lives played by Sharon Odubade, Dammi Olubowale and Beatrice Akinmolayan, all 1st Years at Brentwood School.
The pupil's talents and capabilities throughout the show were outstanding and the play proved to be a huge success.
The Odyssey, was directed by Brentwood School Drama and English teachers Mr. Phil Cleaves, Miss Catherine Hoyle and Mr. Henry Shepherd
Mr. Phil Cleaves commented, "It has been a pleasure to work with such a large group of talented and energetic students."
