Brentwood School's Sixth Formers celebrated another excellent year of A Level results. 92% of grades were A - C with over 70% being As and Bs. 33 exceptional candidates received 3 or more A grades and 5 outstanding pupils will be attending Oxford or Cambridge University in September 2008.
Headmaster, Ian Davies, commented: "I am delighted with the results; they indicate high academic performance and exceptional talent across a wide range of activities. These results are testament to specialist teaching, excellent staff, small class sizes and highly motivated pupils who work very hard. Most of our students will be accepting a place at their first choice of university this September."
Several Brentwood School pupils received excellent grades and are very talented in other areas, most notably; Abigail Ryan who captains the England under 21 Netball team gained 3 A grades and will be attending Durham University, Alex Crutchett who Fences for Great Britain also gained 3 A grades and will be attending Oxford University and Richard Bray who plays for the England Independent Schools under 18's team gained 2 As and 1 B.
Brentwood School does not just prepare pupils to gain places at top universities but also equips them to thrive at university, for example, this year former Brentwood School pupil Jonathan Crookes graduated from Cambridge University with a 1st Class Honours degree in Classics and former pupil Robert Clark gained a 1st Class Honours degree in Economics from Oxford.
