Six Brentwood School pupils were amongst the top GCSE students in the UK, according to Edexcel, the UK's largest awarding body. Brentwood School pupils were amongst the top 10 achievers across three subjects; Spanish, German and Art.
Pupil Sabina Aliyeva sat her GCSE Spanish exam in the summer and achieved one of the highest overall marks in the country out of 15,756 GCSE candidates. Similarly both Tobias Trojan and Johanna Hansen scored within the top 10 pupils for German GCSE out of 19,484 candidates.
Art & Design students at Brentwood School also had reason to celebrate as the results came in, three Art GCSE students; Hee Ah Cho, Emma-Louise Livermore and Thomas Watkins all achieved top marks out of a huge 36,294 candidates throughout the UK!
Michelle Parsons, Head of Art at Brentwood School said she is "absolutely delighted with the news. Tom, Hee Ah and Emma thoroughly deserve to finish within the top 10. This is a wonderful achievement for the whole Art department. To have national recognition for our hardworking, talented staff and outstanding students is a wonderful honour."
