The first VII netball team progressed through to the County round of the Under 19 National Schools netball competition by winning round 1 at New Hall School on Thursday 8 October. They played and beat seven other schools to finish as winners of the tournament. This included impressive victories against strong opposition from St. Martin's, Great Baddow, Chelmsford County high and Brentwood Ursuline.  Impressive shooting from captain, Stephanie Whitfield, sealed the numerous victories and saw the girls achieve a clean sweep over all opposition. Congratulations to Becky Simpson, Stephanie Whitfield, Georgina Raeburn, Megan Henderson, Mimi Allen, Jenna Miles, Ellie Saunders, Charlotte Knowles and Grace O'Connell.

The U14 netball squad also were successful and progressed to the County round of the Under 14 National Schools competition after finishing in an impressive 3^rd position in round 1.  Captain Ashlyn Thomas led from the front, encouraging her players through several difficult matches onto some impressive victories.  Following a narrow loss to eventual winners Chelmsford County High, in the opening game, the girls went on to beat Chelmer Valley and Brentwood Ursuline to reach the semi-final where they lost to St. Martin's. In the 3^rd and 4^th place play-off they fought back from a half time deficit of one goal to clinch a one goal victory over a strong Shenfield team.  Three under 13 players were included in the squad, and played a vital part in the success of the team. Congratulations to Ashlyn Thomas, Jasmine Brown Rase, Emily Higgins, Katie Grenfell, Christy Dailly, Helen Walls, Alice Devenish, Charlotte Kenyon, Jessica Burns and Vanessa Gibson.
