Wooden Spoon Charity Dinner & Auction
15 October 2008
Money raised at the recent Wooden Spoon Charity Dinner is expected to exceed £14,000, a total of over £7,000 each for the Brentwood School Travel Bursary Fund and SNAP, a local charity which provides support for parents and carers of children with special needs. Held on Friday 10th October 2008 in the Brentwood School Dinning Halls, the charity dinner and auction was organised to raise money for two good causes: - The Brentwood School Travel Bursary Fund to enable pupils at the school to benefit from trips and activities which they would otherwise not be able to afford
- The Wooden Spoon Society. The Wooden Spoon is a national organisation which raises money for disadvantaged children. The main beneficiary of the money raised at this particular event is the local charity SNAP.
Attendees enjoyed a 3 course dinner, an exclusive auction and outstanding speeches by former Scottish Rugby Professional Eric Peters, SNAP representative Nichola Hitchcock and Nick Eva from the Wooden Spoon Society. The Headmaster would like to thank all local businesses, parents and Old Brentwoods alike for their kind and generous donations. A particular thank you to those who also bought tickets to this event and to those who purchased raffle tickets and donated wonderful auction items.
