John Donne, Dean of St. Paul's Cathedral and one of England's finest poets, signed the School statutes in 1622. Fifty years ago the whole school travelled to the iconic Cathedral to mark the 400th anniversary. It was only right therefore that in 2007, our 450th year, we again undertook the mammoth task of ensuring that all Senior and Preparatory School pupils could experience the same occasion. More than 800 guests, mostly parents and Old Brentwoods, also joined the congregation on a bright and brisk spring afternoon. The 55-minute service featured an inspirational sermon by The Bishop of London (pictured left). Headmaster Mr Davies said: "The logisitics of moving 1300 pupils into central London was awesome; but it was achieved without fuss or bother." Second Master, Mr Taylor, who co-ordinated the event, added: "I would like to express my appreciation for the magnificent way in which pupils presented themselves."
