All pupils who were at the School in 1957 (the year Her Majesty the Queen visited the school during the 400th anniversary celebrations) were invited back to dinner on May 25. The turn-out was impressive, with some Old Brentwoods travelling from Perth, Australia and South Africa to attend the reunion. The Headmaster highlighted the differences and similarities between the Brentwood School of 50 years ago, and the school community today. He also made the Old Brentwoods aware of new developments such as the new Scholarships and Bursaries Scheme which will ensure that bright boys and girls from the local community are given the opportunity to attend the School regardless of any financial restraints their families may have. Sir Rodger Bell, President of the Society of Old Brentwoods, and Head of School in 1957, spoke fondly of his time at the School. There then followed a rousing rendition of the school song: The Old Red Wall.
