Old Brentwood, Simon Hall (OB: 1968-1979) climbed Mount Everest. He is a Lt Col in the Royal Marines (and son of former Second Master - Micky Hall) and led a military expedition to the summit, with all eight reaching the top.
The team from the Territorial Army and Royal Marine Reserve are working towards their goal of climbing the seven highest summits on each continent. With Aconcagua (South America), Denali (North America), Kilimanjaro (Africa), Elbrus (Europe) and Everest (Asia) now conquered, they just have Carstenz Pyramid (Australasia) and Vinson (Antarctica) left to visit.
