Lessons cover all aspects of the performing arts, as well as developing valuable skills needed in everyday life such as confidence, self-esteem, listening, co-operation and teamwork.
Brentwood School has three major productions a year. The most lavish of which is the Michaelmas term show. Recent additions to a long and illustrious series of Winter Theatricals have included ‘The Trojan Women', ‘Les Miserables', ‘West Side Story' and ‘A Christmas Carol'.
Auditions are open to all students, not only those studying this subject at exam level, and, as pupils pass through the school, they have a chance to be involved on or back stage at every year level.
Our fifth and sixth form exam performances are also open to the public and usually take place in the Huddleston Drama Studio. We also have a thriving Junior Drama Club which meets after school on Fridays. Every House in the school also produces an item of House Drama for the House Drama Festival. Several pupils take advantage of the opportunity to get involved in LAMDA classes. Separate lessons are given in each of the three disciplines and students participate in small classes grouped by age and ability.
