Pre-Prep Summer Event 2010
25 June 2010

Brentwood Pre-Preparatory School's annual Summer Event took place yesterday in the Walled Garden.  Parents were served refreshments in the wonderfully sunny Nursery playing field whilst watching the many displays and races that the children took part in.

Pre-Preparatory School Headmistress Mrs Sarah Wilson opened the Summer Event and commentated whilst events such as the Morning and Afternoon Nursery Busy Bee Races, Reception Animal Dance and Year One Novelty Race took place.  The Year Two Sprint Relay Race, Nursery Surprise and Year Two Novelty Race were very impressive.  In addition, parents were treated to entertainment in the form of the Reception Obstacle Race, Year Two Skip Fest and a beautiful Year One Maypole Display.

To complete the 2010 Summer Event awards were presented by Brentwood School Headmaster, Mr Ian Davies to the following; The Sinclair Cup for Science to Ashley Duley, the Mary Froebel Joy of Music Award to Arthur Day, the Valerie Harper Rise and Shine Shield to Annabel Smith, the Ann Murrells Cup for Virtue Learning and Manners to Olivia Pugh and the June Butler Cup for Achievement to Emily Stonebridge.

This year's event was particularly special as 15 Upper Sixth students have now completed their 15th year at Brentwood School.  Brentwood School is made up of three schools, the Pre-Preparatory, Preparatory and Senior School and these pupils were among those in the first ever nursery class at the Pre-Preparatory when it first opened its doors in 1995.  Since joining in 1995 at the age of three, the pupils have continued their education throughout all three schools.

To celebrate these pupil's achievement and commitment to the school they were invited as guests of honour to the Sports Afternoon and then to a celebration at the Headmaster's house with their parents.

All of the 15 pupils achieved excellent examination results in their time at the school; gaining A* - C grades for their GCSEs.  They are also all predicted A - C grades or 36 points for their A Level's or IB diploma programme.  All 15 plan to go to university this September to study a variety of subjects including Politics, Mathematics, Latin and Music.

Headmaster Ian Davies commented "I would like to congratulate the pupils on this achievement and wish them every success in the future.  In the 15 years that they have attended Brentwood School the pupils have all achieved excellent examination results and gained much from the wider life of the school."

Following the Summer Event, Brentwood Pre-Preparatory School Headmistress Mrs Sarah Wilson said, "The children had much fun throughout the Summer Event whether competing or entertaining us. I was delighted that all the parents watching enjoyed it as much as the participants."
