Brentwood Pre-Preparatory School's annual Summer Event took place yesterday in the lovely setting of the Walled Garden. Parents were served refreshments in the wonderfully sunny Nursery playing field whilst watching the many displays and races that the children took part in.
Pre-Preparatory School Headmistress Mrs Sarah Wilson opened the Summer Event and commentated whilst events such as the Morning & Afternoon Nursery Busy Bee Races, Reception Animal Race and Year One Novelty Race took place. The Year Two Circus Skills display and Year Two Race with Water were both very impressive, with the water race also being designed by Year Two themselves! In addition, parents were treated to entertainment in the form of the Reception Parachute Display and a beautiful Year One Maypole Display.
To complete the 2009 Summer Event awards were presented by Brentwood School Governor, Lady McAllister to the following; The Sinclair Cup for Science to Ben Phillips, the Mary Froebel Joy of Music Award to Jamie Bell and the Valerie Harper Rise & Shine Shield was to Ben Fordham. The Ann Murrells Cup for Virtue Learning and Manners was presented by Headmaster of the Senior School, Mr Ian Davies to Charlotte Lloyd. Finally the June Butler Cup for Achievement was presented by Headmaster of the Preparatory School, Mr Nigel Helliwell to Sarah Blockley.
Following the Summer Event, Brentwood Pre-Preparatory School Headmistress Sarah Wilson said, "It was great to see the Pre-Preparatory compete at this year's Summer Event. I am very proud of those individuals that received trophies; they have all work incredibly hard."
