Brentwood Preparatory School pupils have been baking and buying in aid of charity.

Year 4 girls, co-ordinated by the School Secretary Pam Sheridan, made biscuits and cakes to sell to fellow pupils during breaktime.

The School hopes to raise over £100 for the Chikupira Foundation - a charity set up by the School's Gap Year Student Tim Hughes.

"I recently taught at Chikupira Model School, near Zomba, in Malawi and I wanted to give the school as much support as I could when I got back home," explained Tim. "As a result of a real enthusiasm for the project and some invaluable help from other people I have raised over £11,000 so far through various charity events and some projects are getting under way at Chikupira as we speak, including the renovation of classrooms and the buying of desperately needed resources. I am very grateful to Brentwood Preparatory School for their continuing support."
