New and Advanced Librarian
31 January 2008
On Monday 28th January the newly advanced ‘Junior Librarian' computer system was launched at the Preparatory School. This is a fully self-service library system designed to make book borrowing and returning fun and easy for pupils to control themselves. This system allows children to search books by title and subject, sign out and return books by scanning a books barcode themselves and students can even read book reviews that others have written on the new computer system. The new book service is available for students to use in every lunch hour and in the first week has been very successful, with many pupils taking part. Above: Year 6 Prep School Librarians show us how the new advanced system works (from left to right) Adam Jenson, Matthew Hale, Adam Slaymark, Kathryn Waring, Joseph Turp and Sarah Mathieson.
