Brentwood School pupil Kishen Velani captained the London and East regional team in the Bunbury ESCA Festival which involves matches versus The North, The Midlands and The South West, which effectively includes the best 60 U15 cricketers in the country.
Kishen scored 2 scintillating half centuries in three games and as a result won 5 awards at the presentation dinner. The trophies were awarded to for: Best Batsman, Best Captain, Fastest 50, Highest Run Scorer and lastly and most impressively, Kishen was awarded the Neil Lloyd Memorial Trophy which is awarded to the Best Player at the Festival. Past winners of this prestigious award include Mark Ramprakash, Trevor Ward, Mal Loye, John Crawley and Andrew Flintoff.
Fellow pupil, Rehan Hassan also represented the London and East team and scored a very impressive 73 runs against the North. Due to their tremendous performances, both boys have been selected to train with the England U15 skill set squad.
