ICT is the learning tool of the 21st century. Do you have a desire to delve into the significance and relevance of computers? Do you have the ability to reflect critically on the way you and others use, create or develop ICT systems? Students who do will be able to use their skills as a springboard into higher education and the world of work.
ICT is an invaluable subject; our aim is to teach you learning skills and techniques that will support you throughout your education and professional career.
Students will develop an understanding of how ICT can be used in society and organisations and the implications of its use in the 21st century. You will benefit from practical work, in which you will have to work co-operatively and manage projects. This course is designed to provide quality ICT-based solutions to a range of problems and you will gain an awareness of developments in technology.
Students who opt for ICT find it complements a wide range of other subjects; in particular: Business Studies, Maths, Science, English and Technology, as well as a wide range of occupations, such as the IT profession, co-operative working and project management.

Department Staff
Mr John McCann
Head of ICT & Computing
Energetic and excitable, Mr McCann is like the ‘qubit’ of the quantum computer. Although not able to process the Teraflops of data a modern microprocessor can, his department sum the function well above the average. He also juggles this role with Housemaster (East) and officer commanding the Royal Navy section of the CCF.
Mr Graham Kiff
Mr Kiff (Kernel Inherits Function Fetch-Decode-Execute). A computer scientist with a passion for all things programmable who cried the day the RISC went away. RISC := reduced instruction set computer Else RISC : = rides in spandex clothing. His passion for computer science began with the BEEB developing a competition winning game to deliver post. Now hopefully inspires young programmers to once again put Britain at the very top of international gaming. Also a wannabe Kernel in the CCF Army but hovers at Captain too old for this role in his beloved 2nd 1011.
Mrs Kamal Rajani
Mrs Rajani is a teacher with an interactive information retrieval system. She has implemented this with a multi-access system, which allows the user to access the information stored. Her low-level language enables users to viewdata on the terminal. High levels of protocol and privacy settings are in place to ensure hackers are unable to access. Although a little BIT of the department, she has a huge BYTE when angry.
