Sport

We believe that sport should be fun for everyone at Brentwood Preparatory School. Every week, all children take part in at least four hours of sport, led by our large team of specialist sports teachers and coaches. A wide range of extra curricular sport is on offer to all pupils before, during and after school - some activities are just for fun, others enable children to train and compete at a high level. Here is a list of what is on offer at the Preparatory School:

Facilities
Our children benefit from the use of outstanding facilities which include 62 acres of playing fields, 2 netball courts, 3 tennis courts, 25m indoor swimming pool, sports hall, all-weather athletics track, fencing salle, 4 squash courts and Astroturf pitch.

Excellence
We have a long history of sporting excellence and several of our former pupils - including Frank Lampard, the Chelsea and England footballer - have gone on to achieve great things. Many of our current children compete at district, county and even national level. Recent highlights include the boys' gymnastics team being placed 3rd in Great Britain (the girls' team are ranked 7th in GB). The U11 football team won the Essex Cup in 2006 and the Brentwood District Cup in 2007 and 2006. The U11 netball team won the Brentwood District League in 2006 and the cross country teams are the current Chelmsford Area and Brentwood District Champions. The cricket, rugby, fencing, rounders and swimming teams have all won major inter-school tournaments in recent times.
