Sunday Service in Chapel

On Sunday 11th May, we gathered for our monthly Service in Chapel where we took some time to reflect upon the image of the fish which has been a key symbol of the Christian faith for many centuries – dating back earlier, in fact, to the use of the cross. Fish are mentioned in a number of important places in the Bible narrative.

Jesus Called the disciples, many of whom were fishermen.
Jesus fed and nurtured many people with five loaves and two small fish.
The Risen Jesus met with his disciples by the lake shore for a breakfast of fish

In our service we considered how these stories invite us to see Jesus as the One who Calls Us, Sustains Us and Restores Us. Our next Sunday Service will be on Sunday 8th June at 10am which is Pentecost – the birth of the Church. All are welcome for this special service which may involve a birthday cake!
