The Pathway to Success
The School offers three pathways in the Sixth Form: A Levels, the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP) and BTEC Extended Diplomas in Sport and Business.
These three pathways ensure that students can be placed on the courses to which they are best suited and allow them to flourish at Brentwood and beyond.
The statistics below represent the dedication and excellence of our teaching staff and the hard work and application of our students, and we are justifiably proud of their achievements.
Outstanding Results
The IB Diploma Class of 2026 at Brentwood returned an average of over 37 points. 21 students took the IB Diploma, with two securing the maximum total of 45.
110 students took A Level examinations at Brentwood and a strong set of results saw 47.6% graded A* or A. 18.3% of A Level results were A* and 78.4% of results were A*-B. The pass rate at A Level was 100%.
In 2026, all 41 BTEC Extended Diploma students achieved their first-choice outcome. three students attained the equivalent of A*A*A* and 19 students secured the equivalent of A*A*A. Our high-achieving BTEC cohort (35 in Business, six in Sport) are heading to a range of destinations, further illustrating the School’s aim to enable all students to achieve their best possible outcomes.
A Level Excellence
Among Brentwood School’s top A Level scorers was Deputy Head of School, Gracie C, who – with her full house of three A*s – is taking up a place at Cambridge to read Modern and Medieval Languages.
Gracie said:
“I am so glad all the hard work has paid off, I’d love to thank my teachers.”
Three Students Achieve Top IB Points
Top scorer Fin T achieved the maximum possible total of 45 points.
Fin’s heart is set on a career in teaching, a goal now one step closer with a place secured to read History at the University of Warwick.
Despite being predicted such a high points tally, Fin said:
“I worked very hard for it but didn’t really believe it would happen!”
It is fantastic to see the achievements of all our outgoing Upper Sixth Students as they look to their future ‘Beyond Brentwood’. It is always so exciting to see the range of pathways our students take, such as entering universities in the UK and across the world, or taking up apprenticeships and employment roles.
Outstanding BTEC Results
Students following Brentwood’s BTEC pathways achieved exceptional success. Of the 41-strong BTEC cohort, 22 achieved the A Level equivalent of A*A*A* or A*A*A and a further 13 grades equating to A*AA.
Our BTEC students will now move on to a range of prestigious universities, including Bath, Exeter, Nottingham, Liverpool, Leeds and Birmingham, studying courses including Law, Architecture, Sports Management and Business. Others are looking forward to starting apprenticeships or direct employment at firms that include BP, Aon, Ascot and Grant Thornton.
We are very proud that every year the majority of our students are accepted to their first choice of university but recognise that university is not for everyone.
We are equally proud of our students who pursue different routes, whether these be apprenticeships or directly into the workplace and aim to ensure that all students have outstanding career guidance.
