Sport Weekly

As we reach the midpoint of Trinity Term, it is time to reflect on the exciting developments in our cricket and tennis programs for all year groups. This week, our pupils have been showcasing their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship, all while enjoying the beautiful spring weather.

The cricket training sessions have been bustling with energy as our budding cricketers sharpen their skills. Under the guidance of our dedicated coaches, pupils have been focusing on fundamental techniques such as batting, bowling, and fielding. The emphasis has been on teamwork and communication, essential elements of the game.

Year 4 have taken their training to the next level, participating in mini-games and fixtures that have fostered a competitive spirit. The pupils have shown significant improvement, with several standout performances that have impressed both coaches and peers alike.

Year 5 & Year 6 have engaged fixtures and additional after school training, providing an excellent platform to showcase their talents. These fixtures have not only tested their skills but also encouraged sportsmanship, with players cheering for each other regardless of the score.

Tennis Programme

Tennis training has also been in full swing, with pupils honing their techniques and strategies. The focus has been on developing strong serves, precise volleys, and strategic gameplay.

Year 3 have enjoyed learning the rules of tennis through engaging games and drills, laying a solid foundation for their future in the sport. Their enthusiasm during practice has been delightful to witness.

Year 4 have made significant strides, participating in friendly matches that have helped them apply their training in a competitive environment. The improvement in their gameplay has been remarkable, with many pupils showing potential for further development.

Year 5 & Year 6 the competition element of the sport has increased, they have been involved in friendly fixtures against other school, providing invaluable experience. The thrill of competing against others has spurred them on, and it been heartening to see their determination and resilience on the court.

As we move into the second half of Trinity Term, we encourage all students to continue their hard work and dedication in both cricket and tennis. With upcoming fixtures and tournaments on the horizon, there is plenty of excitement to look forward to.

Parents are reminded to support their children by attending matches and cheering them on. Your involvement not only boosts their morale but also fosters a sense of community within our sports programs.

In conclusion, the first half of Trinity Term has been a resounding success for our cricket and tennis programs. Let’s keep up the momentum and aim for even greater achievements in the weeks to come. Go, Brentwood!
